This is a pastel still life workshop for soft pastel only (do not bring oil pastel,as that is a different medium entirely).  A still life will be provided by the artist.  Points of interest will include backgrounds, shadows, highlights, reflected lights, texture, glass, cloth etc. Demos and critiques daily. 

Supply list:  Paper support - any rigid, smooth surface that will hold a 19.5 by 25.5 sheet of Canson pastel paper.  If your board is slightly smaller, paper can be trimmed.

                   Bulldog clips to attach paper to board

                   6 - 10 sheets Canson Mi Teintes Pastel Paper, medium tones are best, brown, blue, grey, NO BLACK, NO WHITE

                   Soft vine charcoal for drawing

                   Kneaded eraser

                   Nu-Pastel soft pastel set- get the biggest set you feel comfortable buying.  96 piece set is recommended. 

                   A small set of extra softs pastels:  Sennelier would be a good choicel.  They come in half stick sets.

                   Optional items:  I find the following very helpful: Baby wipes for cleaning your hands, pocket mirror for checking your drawing, small tv tray or table to hold your pastels, smock (I use an old shirt tied around my waist).
